Problems after following office workaround

I followed the workaround for transferring Microsoft Office 2007 from XP to Windows 7. However while my programs have transferred they do not work on windows 7. When I try to open any of the office programs I get a message saying "The setup controller has encountered a problem during install. Please review the log files for further information on the error." The program opens but does not allow me to do anything. Can you tell me what I need to do to fix this? I have also tried running the Microsoft Office diagnostic and that states the problem is that it needs an msi. file to install properly but I cannot find this anywhere and I followed your work around step by step.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)
