Using PickMeApp to transfer applications from old Win 7 disk that has boot problems to a newly purchased disk with Win 7 Pro on it. Have tried twice to move QuickBooks to the new disk and the install finishes with an error and installation fails.

Currently , PickMeApp can capture application only if the original OS is active and running.
It is due to fact that PickMeApp uses an active system information to extract an application.

To some extend, It is possible to solve problem with an old hard disk by following the information from this post.

Thanks for the response. Just to fill you in on what I've done: I put the old drive in another of my computers and got it to boot up despite boot up problems. I then ran PickMeApp outputting the application files onto an externally connected 40GB drive. I moved that drive to the computer with the new disk and ran the install. Same problem.

I am going to see if the use of safe mode will make any difference

I have old and new disks in two computers. I booted source computer in safe mode with networking and ran PickMeApp to capture QuickBooks on to a 40GB external drive. I then moved the external drive to the target computer with the new drive and booted it into safe mode with networking. I ram PickMeApp in install mode and it terminated wi an error. Installation failed.

When I shut dow PickMeApp An error code Runtime Error R6025 pure virtual function call.was displayed. This has happened every time i've run the program. Could this be the source of the failure?

We confirm that while closing PickMeApp a runtime error may appear.

It has no any affect on PickMeApp functionality .

It seems that during application closing  some system resources are released twice.
In such cases OS system informs this error.

We will try to reproduce your problem in our laboratory.
We will keep you updated.

I've tried everything I can think of to get PickMeApp to transfer My QuikBooks Pro 2010 from my old disk (now installed and operational in an old computer) to a new disk in my main computer. Both machines under Windows 7. After 5-6 tries with PickMeApp using different techniqes, it has failed each time with an error (no indication what the error is) and no transfer.

I am giving up and will buy a copy of PC Mover from Laplink Software and do it with that. I've used PC Mover several times successfully in my business.
