Adobe Photoshop CS2: old workaround no longer required

Author: PmaTeam

The old workaround for Adobe Photoshop CS2 is no longer required in the current version of PickMeApp.

The earlier manual steps applied to older PickMeApp releases. Use the current version and the normal application-transfer workflow instead.

Download the current PickMeApp version, then follow Capturing an Application and Installing Applications. If you have an old captured package, capture the application again with the current version before transferring it.

Application compatibility with the destination Windows version and activation/licensing requirements still apply. If you encounter a problem, contact us with the application version, PickMeApp version and source/destination Windows versions.

Updated 4 November 2026. This page is retained at its original address for existing links; the obsolete workaround is no longer current guidance.

I imported the registry key to my new system through RegEdit and Photoshop is still coming up with the same error. Is anyone else having this issue, and is there a workaround?

The registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{236BB7C4-4419-42FD-0419-1E257A25E34D}]

is not License Key. It is some program installation key.

Also please pay attention that currently PickMeApp do not support 64 bit system. So if your source or destination PC is 64bit,  it does not work.

In general , PickMeApp does not transfer License Keys. So probably , you will need to registry your product again with Adobe.

Also You may try to transfer

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe Systems\Product licenses\B31F2000.dat

to the same location on new PC.
